>> announcer: right now breaking news. >> year continuing to follow breaking news out of san francisco two are dead after an overnight house fire. it happened on vienna street. an investigation into the cause of the flames is underway. good morning. that's where we will begin. amy hollyfield has been on the scene since 4:30 this morning. she joins us now. the fire chief has just arrived? >> reporter: that's right. the fire chief sin sigh the home now. firefighters say it -- chief inside the home now. fires say it is unusual to have two fatalities the is here to review everything and check on this case and how it was handled. it is being considered a crime scene because of the two fatalities. firefighters arrived about 3:30 this morning when they got here 20 fewesque upstairs

was on -- 25% of the upstairs was on fire there was a lot of smoke they were surprised to find a lot of stuff. they state was tough to navigate around it. they knew they needed to get in and move around this home as quickly as possible. >> crews agrees sill took a hose line to cover them says and up to the front stairs to go ahead and effect a rescue for possible occupants. they were contained with very heavy debris and on cuts a challenge to get to the fire.çf >> reporter: some of those piles were eight feet high maybe higher it presented a real challenge am i want to show you a live picture of the garage. take a look at how packed with stuff it it doesn't look like you could fit one more thing inside there. the fire chief is in the home now getting a sense of what firefighters were dealing with. firefighters haven't released any more personal information

heading towards the bay bridge live spotlight not much a delay into san francisco, you heard amy hollyfield's report. if you are in the excelsior neighborhood avoid vienna near silver, 280 good towards downtown san francisco as well as 101. san rafael police investigating possible sexual misconduct by a long time teacher at an elite private school. marin academy fire under named teacher for allegedly having inappropriate relationships with three female students more than 30 years ago. the academy says it fired the teacher, notified police and told him not to have further contact with anyone in the school community. police have not arrested the former teacher they want to interview more students and parents. yosemite's campground scrubbed and disinfected following the death of a man

exposed to the hantavirus the victim had stayed in a tent cabin at curry village in june he died a few weeks later. a woman who in a nearby tent at the same time became seriously ill. authorities traced it to deer mice droppings the first step only the third and fourth cases of hantavirus at yosemite since the disease was identified in 1993. also at yosemite, the search continues for the body of a 6-year-old boy swept away wednesday afternoon while wading in the merced river near vernal falls. his 10-year-old brother was also swept to his death. he was pulled from the river but died at the scene. the boys were visiting the park with family from los angeles. several protesters arrested after occupying president obama's campaign headquarters in oakland. video from a processor --

protester on scene all claimed to have served in the military. scott olsen let on his own before the others were arrested. they were demanding the release of bradley manning the u.s. serviceman who leaked documents to wikileaks. [ unintelligible ] trading on wall treat gets less than 30 minutes this morning investors will be keeping a close eye on facebook after the company's stock closed at an all time low. shares plunged down 6% finishing yesterday at $19.87.

previous low was just under $20 a share. the big drop came on the first day early investors could sell shares. more than 270 million shares became eligible for sale. the stock has lost nearly half original value of $38. petaluma getting ready to cheer on its little league team this weekend after scoring a big victory at the world series. local theater donated two screens, charged $15 a seat and sold out yesterday for that first game. 500 cheered the team on as it beat connecticut, 6-4 in pennsylvania. it is baseball, this town is all about community and this really underscores community. the money raised yesterday goes toward helping parents of the players make the trip back east. petaluma has two days off before its next game sunday 11 a.m., you can see right here

recruit turned on them during the recruit's swearing in ceremony. officials say the service members had just handed a gun to the recruit when he opened fire the gunman was killed. major southern california freeway back open after a big rig collision shutdown all lanes for several hours. pictures will make you feel better about your commute this was yesterday northbound 405 car collided with a big rig closing lane. highway patrol reported injuries from the crash. not clear the extent of those injuries. take a look, as a result, traffic backed up for miles into the night. this has to be 9:00 at least, drivers call it carmageddon last lane reopened before 11 p.m.. i don't think it is going to be like carmageddon but we could see traffic on the bay bridge as folks head over to the a's games.

move around inside the home. she does think that impacted the ability of firefighters to reach the victims, it took them 20 minutes to get to the first victim in a normal situation it probably would have taken just a couple of minutes. firefighters saw a lot of smoke and fire from upstairs they rushed in with one hose line just to cover themselves. they were moving slowly in there they say some piles of stuff were eight feet high. >> we are obviously looking to rescue as well as suppress the fire. to do that in a situation where you can barely get through let alone advance a hose line is really challenging. >> reporter: neighbors told firefighters the victims were two elderly men. we asked the chief about the ability of the men to get out. she says it appears one man was up and trying if get out but the other man may have had health issues that him from escaping.

she doesn't think he was wheelchair bound because she doesn't see how you can move a wheelchair around in that home because there was so much stuff packed in there. they don't know the cause. police and firefighters are here working the scene trying to figure out what happened. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. this morning a suspect wanted in five armed robberies in redwood city is in jail. video shows deputies taking 30-year-old miguel caballero into jail after a 10 hour standoff yesterday. it ended peacefully around 6 p.m.. authorities got several tips that he was in his home after surveillance video aired on news stations showing him during one of his robberies. >> people identified the person what they saw in the video. we took a -- dmv photo and i

was a perfect match. he was considered armed and dangerous he was a threat to our community and we are glad he's taken into custody. >> investigators searched caballero's house and found evidence connecting him to the robberies. they say he has an extensive criminal record. this morning a teenager is fighting for his life after being shot in east san jose last night. police say it happened about 9:30 on the 600 block of sanders avenue. officers arrived to find a wounded teenager, he's being treated for potentially life-threatening injuries. police have no suspects, circumstances or motive. ethics commission has concluded that suspended sheriff ross mirkarimi is guilty of official misconduct. the panel stopped short of recommending he be removed from office as mayor lee requested. instead, the commission will hold another meeting to create a written recommendation and summary of their findings for the board of supervisors which

defended them as constituent services. dallas, texas is moving an ahead with spraying to stop the west nile virus. planes are scheduled to fly again tonight. the dallas area is dealing with a massive outbreak of west nile virus, 200 cases and 10 deaths. experts say the spraying is safe and the amount of chemicals used is lower than what is found in many household products. in palo alto water district trying to fix a broken floodgate that has brought million of flood marsh mosquitoes to life. the specific mosquito has been dormant more than 20 years they do not carry west nile but are aggressive attacking people day and night.
